Countryman Coatings Rust Buster is a professional-grade rust-inhibiting primer designed specifically for metal roofs that are beginning to rust. Applied before a silicone roof coating, Rust Buster helps slow existing rust growth while creating a better surface for silicone adhesion.

Rust can be difficult to completely stop once it begins, but Rust Buster is formulated to slow its progression and help prevent it from continuing to compromise your roof. It’s an ideal prep step for aging metal roofs that are still structurally sound but showing signs of oxidation or surface rust.

Coverage & Application

Rust Buster should be applied only to a clean, dry and properly prepared metal surface. Loose rust, dirt, grease, oil and other contaminants should be removed before application. Heavy rust scale should be mechanically removed before priming.

Apply at approximately 1 gallon per 200 square feet under normal conditions. A 5-gallon bucket will therefore cover approximately 1,000 square feet, depending on surface condition and application thickness.

Rust Buster can be applied by sprayer, brush or roller and is designed to be followed with a compatible Countryman Coatings silicone roof coating.

Metal roofing, barns, pole buildings, agricultural buildings, commercial metal roofs, garages, sheds and other structurally sound metal surfaces showing signs of rust or oxidation.
